مصطفى: برگزيده، ومصطفين: جمع مصطفى، مانند أدْنَيْنَ وأقْصَيْنَ كه جمع أدْنى و أقْصى است.

يعنى: خداوندا ! رحمت و تعظيم كن بر آل آن حضرت كه دوازده امام اند و پاكان اند از پليدى جميع گناهان صغيره و كبيره، از اوّل عمر تا نهايت آن، كه بهترين مخلوقات اند و برگزيدگان اند به هدايت و ارشاد، نيكوكارترين همه بندگان اند به عبادت و بندگى پروردگار.

وَافْتَحِ اللّهُمَّ لَنَا مَصَارِيعَ الصَّباحِ بِمَفَاتِيحِ الرَّحْمَـةِ وَالْفَلاَحِ

فتح: گشودن.

مصاريع: جمع مصراع، و مصراع: در.

مفاتيح: جمع مفتاح، و مفتاح: كليد.

فلاح: نجات و فيروزى و بقاى عمر.

بدان كه بندگان را سه چيز است: دل و نَفس و روح. دل، طالبِ معرفت / ۱۶۲ / و ايمان است و نفس، طالب رزق و احسان [ است ] و روح، طالب عفو و غفران. فقره شريفه، جامع آن سه چيز است يعنى: بگشاى خداوندا از براى انتفاع ما درهاى بستگى هاى صباح را به كليدهاى رحمت و معرفت و ايمان و رزق و احسان و عفو و غفران و فيروزى و رستگارى از آتش جهنّم و نيران، يا [ آن كه ] مصاريع صباح، كنايه از فتح ابواب هدايت است كه رحمت و فلاح، مشعر است بر آن.

و كنايه نيز مى تواند بود از فتح ابواب آسمان كه هفت در است از براى انتفاع بندگان: يكى درِ باران، دوم درِ روزى، سيّم در تدبير، چهارم درِ فرود آمدن ملائكه و روح، پنجم دَرِ بالا رفتن اعمال عباد، ششم درِ فرود آمدن ملائكه به بشارت، هفتم دَرِ رحمت است.
