It is hoped that this paper shows that signficant features of Arabic morphosyntax can still be uncovered by applying modern linguistic methods and insights, and that not everything has already been covered by the medieval grammarians

A path forward is to conduct a much more expansive study of this type of construction and to figure out in which sub-corpora this Differential Object Marking is borne out, and in which it is not, and perhaps if we can observe change over time or tendencies in "Middle Arabic"
