Biotechnology and Medicine

Iran has emerged as a pioneer in biotechnology and genetic engineering in the region. It produces over 30 types of biopharmaceuticals domestically, including cancer treatments and vaccines. Iran was among the first countries in West Asia to develop a COVID-19 vaccine, "COVIran Barekat."
