A beautiful text about Imam Mahdi

Verily, the faith of Islam doth hold as a principle that the Mahdi shall come, a figure of messianic import that shall appear ere the end of days, and purge the world of wickedness, establishing a society of justice and peace

This Mahdi, so 'tis held, shall be of the lineage of Muhammad, and his advent a portent of the end of times. In times of corruption and iniquity, it is believed that he shall appear, ushering in a new age of righteousness and harmony

There be many differing beliefs and interpretations concerning the coming of the Mahdi among the various sects and schools of Islamic thought. Yet the hope and inspiration that the belief in his coming provides shall not be diminished, but rather shall endure for many a faithful Muslim throughout the globe

descend: نزول کردن، نسل بر نسل پایین آوردن

portent: پیشگویی، نشانه، علامت

iniquity: نادرستی، بدکاری، بی‌انصافی

sect: فرقه، گروه

endure: پایدار بودن، تحمل کردن، طولانی مدت بودن
