The present perfect continuous tense, also known as present perfect progressive, is used to describe actions or events that started in the past, are still ongoing in the present, and may continue into the future, It emphasizes the duration or continuous nature of an action that started in the past and is still happening

In English, the present perfect continuous is formed by using the auxiliary verb to have in the present tense (have/has), followed by been and then the present participle (-ing form) of the main verb

Here are some examples

She has been studying for three hours

They have been playing soccer since morning

I have been working on this project all week

We have been waiting for the bus for half an hour

He has been practicing the guitar for months

Have you been learning French for a long time

The children have been playing outside in the garden

The team has been training hard for the upcoming competition

It has been raining since yesterday

They have been traveling around Europe for several months

In each of these examples, the action or event started in the past, is still ongoing at the present time, and may continue into the future The present perfect continuous is useful for describing actions that have been happening over a period of time and are still in progress
